Maurice Nicholson was born to the late Deacon Richard Nicholson and Ethel Baylor Nicholson of Freeman, Virginia. He attended Brunswick County Public Schools and graduated from James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, Virginia.
Orelia Ajarah Walton Nicholson was born in Freeman, Virginia to the late Ruffin Callis Walton and Dorothy Walton. She attended Scott Lewis Elementary School in Freeman, Virginia and graduated from James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, Virginia.
In 1967, she moved to Bronx, New York. She was employed at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company on Wall Street. While living in New York, she continued her education at Hanover Institute in New York City.
On May 3, 1970, these high school sweethearts were united in holy matrimony. After marriage, the couple made their home in New Jersey, where Maurice worked as a building contractor, an independent contractor, and later as a construction supervisor for the Teaneck Public School System. Orelia enrolled in the Paramus Business College.
They are the proud parents of two children, Shawn and Jennifer. The additions to their family are daughter-in-law, Karen, and two granddaughters, Ajarah Marie and Shanyce Michele, and son-in-law Matthew.
On September 8, 1976, they both accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In 1978, Maurice accepted the call to preach the gospel and received his license at Bethel Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Robert Redell Langston. He enrolled in the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College in East Orange, New Jersey and later Manhattan Bible Institute in New York, where he received a Teacher’s Certificate in Theology
Since relocating to Virginia, Maurice furthered his education at the Fredericksburg Bible Institute, in Fredericksburg, Virginia earning his Associate, Bachelor, and Master degrees in Theology. Orelia attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and is currently employed at the City of Richmond Police Department as an Administrator Services Coordinator.
Maurice was ordained as an elder under the leadership of the former Bishop Eugene Brown, Sr. Elder Nicholson is the founder and pastor of Future Church of Christ (Holiness) USA in Richmond, Virginia. He is also the founder of Unity Church of Christ (Holiness) USA in Hopewell, Virginia where Elder Phillip Plumpp is the pastor. Elder Nicholson is the Southern District Chairman of the Eastern Diocese of the Church of Christ (Holiness) USA.
Since this ministry began, many souls have been healed by the laying on of hands, according to Mark 16: 18, “They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover,” and many have been set free through Elder Nicholson’s summon to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
